I hosted an wild and crazy open mic in San Francisco at Rockin’ Java cafe in the Haight Ashbury district for about 4 years. Plenty of talent went through those doors as well as quite a few less than stellar acts. One of the people to grace the stage was Emily Anne, one of the contestants that appeared on last night’s American Idol. The first thing I noticed about Emily was her very unique M.C. Escher tattoos on her arms. I had an Escher poster in office and had never seen anyone with Escher artwork on their arms. Emily seemed very sweet and had a very unique old-timey voice and singing style. She could also play guitar. I saw talent in Emily and I asked her to perform as a featured artist a few weeks later.
Last night Emily made the first round of cuts on American Idol in San Francisco and will be going to perform in Hollywood. Best wishes to you Emily…
